Medolago is located in the heart of a series of peculiar coutries of bergamo area, which offer plenty of places of religious, artistic, recreational and naturalistic interest.   

Religious:
1) in Sotto il Monte (at 5 kms from the hotel), the birthplace of Pope Giovanni XXIII, called "the good Pope", it' s possible participate at guided tours, to the discovery of this locality became "an open-air sanctuary".

2) in Ghiaie of Bonate Sopra (at 6 kms from the hotel), you can visit "the chapel of the apparitions", erected as a place of worship after the 13 apparitions of the Madonna in 1944.

Artistic:
1) in Calusco d' Adda (at 4 kms from the hotel) with the San Michele bridge, or Rothlisberger bridge, masterpiece of archeology italian industrial, built with the same techniques of the Tour Eiffel.
2) in Villa d' Adda (at 6 kms from the hotel), with the Leonardo ferry. Ferry at hand, invented by Leonardo da Vinci around the year 1500, the only example still functioning, that allows at the guest of crossing the river Adda, also on board of his car.
3) in Crespi d' Adda (at 10 kms from the hotel), is located "the worker village of end '800", becomed UNESCO heritage, because is an exceptional example of worker village most complete and best preserved in the south Europe. It's possible participare at guided tours in order to better appreciate this attraction.

 

Recreative:
1) with the Leolandia Park, at 6 kms, one of the most important amusement parks for children in the north - west Europe, with modern rides, shows and miniatures of the most important monuments of Italy.

2) with the Fauna Park Le Cornelle, at 10 kms, wich houses over 120 species of animals, including the famous white tiger. Park that not wants to be only a zoo, but also a place for the protection and preservation of animal species.

Naturalistic:
1) with the Adda North Park, where a path, along the river, starts from the Taccani hydroeletric power plant, in liberty style of beginning '900, and ends at the Visconti Castle, wich dominates on the Adda river. Ideal for walking or paths with mountain bike.

at 12 kms from the hotel, is located città alta  of Bergamo, a medieval city, surrounded by walls. An ideal place to spend pleasant evenings, but also racommended for daily visits. Numerous points of interest, such as: Old Square, the Rocca, the Campanone, the palace of the region, the new palace (with the Angelo Mai library), the church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the venetian walls. 

Starting from lower Bergamo, città alta is reachable:  

- by car (except for summer weekends)

- by foot, thanks to scorlazzini (stairways, that from several points connect the upper to the lower town)

- by bus

- by  funicular.
